Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present): Stuart's history up to his canon point is relatively simple. The earliest point is when he was a child, and he and his friend were playing William Tell. Stuart ended up impaled to a garage door by a crossbow bolt. Obviously, the emergency services were called, and Stuart was attended to by a paramedic called "Marvin." Stuart describes this as a pivotal moment in his history, and it is likely what caused him to join the ambulance service.
Shortly after, his father, Dennis Bayldon, left Stuart and his mother. All Stuart can remember is being sat down and told how it wasn't going to work with him and Stuart's mother, and that he was sorry. The last time Stuart saw his father was when he walked out the door.
At some point, Stuart went to University and met Maxine Fox. The two became friends and stayed that way after graduation. After that, Maxine joined the police force and Stuart joined the Ambulance Service. After a while, he was also paired up with Ashley Greenwick.
Stuart has known Ashley for over two years, and considers him one of his closer friends, along with Maxine. Soon, the pair were joined by a trainee Ambulance Tech called Rachid Mansaur, who soon became a part of "Stuart's crew."
During the time Rachid was on Stuart's team, he performed an open cardiac massage on a patient, and proved his semi-competance at dealing with adrenaline surges and post-traumatic stress, and also revealed that he was impotent. After an experience with a university student who had an affair with another man, he discovered that his virility wasn't as low as he wanted as a result of being exposed to another man's semen.
He also has Maxine loaded as his I.C.E (In Case of Emergency) contact in his mobile phone, after going with her to a party for her work.
As Rachid got more comfortable with the other two, he eventually grew restless. He started to compete with Stuart for the postition as "Alpha Male" of the crew. Stuart, however, successfully proved that brains are sometimes better than brawn.
When Maxine hooked up with Craig, a fireman, she came to Stuart with some small issues she was having. Because she was so unused to being in a solid relationship, and with the stress of the Detective Inspector course looming, she was unsure of her relationship with Craig, and it was having a knock-on effect on her job confidence. Stuart helped persuade her and Craig otherwise.
Not long after this, Stuart discovered that his dad had died. After being estranged for so long, he found out that his dad had re-married and had another son, also called Stuart. He doesn't really know how to feel about this and decides to bond with his new-found baby brother, with disasterous results. He finally admitted to Maxine that he loved her, by kissing her, on little Stuart's advice.
After this, Stuart gets a box of his dad's possessions from his new step-mother, discovering a VHS tape. Unable to watch it, he doesn't go to attend his dad's funeral the following day, instead going to work as usual, but takes the VHS tape with him.
Character's personality: The best way to describe Stuart Bayldon is "prickly fuck-wit." This is a term coined by his best friend Ashley Greenwick, and is the best way to describe his outward personality. Stuart dislikes social situations, and often comes across as acerbic, sarcastic and with a superior, know-it-all attitude.
This isn't all there is to him, however. Stuart has an intimacy problem which, according to his friend Maxine, stems from the fact his father left him. It takes Stuart a while to actually open up and say what's really on his mind. This is shown in the first episode, when, after insulting Maxine, it takes him 24 hours to go and apologise and explain why he did what he did.
Stuart keeps mostly to himself. He's very defensive about his innermost feelings, likely due to the intimacy issue. When he's with Rachid and Ashley, he's a wise-cracking, snarky, sarcastic bastard. He rarely shows his inner feelings, and that's only to Maxine and, on occasion, Ashley, as these are the people he trusts more than anything.
He shows a severe dislike for anyone who tries to understand how he's feeling. Psychiatrists seem to be the top of this. He has a strong dislike of Kirsty Schelmerdine, the hospital's shrink, and constantly tries to prove her wrong in her assumptions about this. The key point was when Stuart intentionally suppressed the effects of "Up, Horny, Down."
Professionally, Stuart is incredibly confident in his own abilities. He knows exactly what to do in dire situations, when time is of the essence, or equipment is denied. He shows great decision-making skills and is shown to be a born leader solely by knowledge.
He has a strong sense of pride. When Rachid attempts to become the "alpha male" of the crew, Stuart fights back with a vehement passion to defend his position and succeeds. He has strong determination, and dislikes being proved wrong. He will fight his opinion to the death.
He can't cry. He feels an emotional detachment to everything, and is of the opinion that death is simply a part of life.
In summary, on the outside, Stuart is hard to get along with, hard to deal with and dislikes social interaction. On the inside, however, you can see how much of his exterior is to protect the real personality from being hurt too much. Only his true friends see this side.
Character's skills/abilities/powers: Stuart is a mere human. He has no natural powers from his own world. In-game, however, his powers will be two-fold. The first one will be the ability to sense when people he's close to are in trouble. If this sense is ignored, it starts to manifest as a headache that gets more intense the longer he ignores it, and how dire the situation is.
The second is, if a person is feeling stressed or down, direct skin contact will cause a surge of adrenaline in Stuart, and cause him to experience the body's natural reaction to post-traumatic stress, known to Stuart as...

Essentially, Stuart will experience a euphoric period, lasting approximately 4-8 hours, the "up," a period of increased sexual need, the "horny," and a period of depression, the "down." Stuart, however, is a master at repressing these feelings, but if it constantly happens, it may overwhelm even him.
Stuart knows, in his own words, shitloads. He's a plethora of trivia, knowledge and opinion. He even said himself that if he had the money, he would have become a doctor. His knowledge mostly centres around biology and emergency care. While not being qualified, he can perform complicated emergency proceedures such as open cardiac massage. He's a skilled Ambulance Technician, and very knowledgeable about his chosen field.

Are you bringing your character to
ten_fwd from another game? If you are, which game?:
scorched (Currently closed.)
If you answered yes above, briefly summarize how they were changed by and what challenges they faced in the climate of their previous game(s): During his stay in Anatole, he joined the Clinic as an emergency responder, but mostly spent his time locked up and away from people. This was mostly due to his Scorched power, which was if he came in contact with anyone feeling stressed, he'd receive an adrenaline surge, and then the accompanied comedown of, what Stuart calls, "Up, horny, down." Euphoria, increased sex drive, then a bout of depression. Stuart professes a sheer hatred for this process, so staying away from people made sense to him.
Aside from his colleagues at the clinic, Martha Jones and Nymphadora Tonks, Stuart didn't really interact with many people because of this.
He'll probably be back to his canon self more than affected by what happened in Anatole. Stuart will take any trauma earned in Anatole in his stride. He's not open about his feelings, so anything that happened may be buried deep inside unless something forces him to talk about it. He'll also have a new-found appreciation for people, considering he wasn't surrounded by the general public in Anatole. His bedside manner will still leave much to be desired, but he won't be so critical of others.
Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? Playing here will open Stuart up a lot more, I think. He'll likely join Sickbay to help out as much as he can.
